                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE
                   APPLICATION TO THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF
                   TRANSPORTATION FOR THE REPLACEMENT/REHABILI-
                   TATION OF THE BRIDGE OVER OLD HIXSON PIKE AT
                   AN ESTIMATED COST OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX
                   THOUSAND DOLLARS ($126,000.00), THIRTY
                   PERCENT (30%) OF WHICH IS TO BE PROVIDED BY
                   THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA.

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that the Mayor be and is hereby 
authorized
       to apply to the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the
       replacement/rehabilitation of the bridge over Old Hixson Pike at
       an estimated cost of $126,000.00, 30% of which, or approximately
       $37,800.00, is to be provided by the City of Chattanooga.
